Hefty Basics Review and Giveaway

Confession time - I hate washing dishes. I can't remember a time in my life that I didn't hate washing dishes. So a few weeks ago, when I was given the opportunity to try out the new line of paper plates by Hefty® called Hefty® Basics, I quickly said yes please!!

If you haven't seen them in your stores yet, there are a biodegradable (and microwavable) option to your standard everyday plates.

From their website:

Hefty® Basics disposable paper plates deliver the strength and value you expect from the Hefty® brand and much more. Free of inks, dyes or coatings, Hefty® Basics paper plates are biodegradable in home composting making them a perfect choice for environmentally-conscious consumers. Hefty® Basics plates are designed to deliver the strength needed to support most any meal. Great for serving family meals or entertaining a gathering of friends or family, these microwavable plates are competitively priced to deliver superior value without busting your budget.

Hefty® Basics paper plates deliver the performance, strength and value you want and you can feel good using them. The plates are available in 45-count 8 5/8-inch lunch plate packages and 24-count 10 1/4-inch dinner plate packages.

After using the plates, I can tell you that I love them. I love how strong they are - they don't curl up as you're carrying a plate full of food to the table; I love that they are thick enough that juices don't soak through the plate; I love that they are microwavable; and I also love that it is biodegradable and that it's not going to be in our landfills from now until the end of time and beyond.

As if that's not enough reason to want to try them out, Hefty® Basics is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to replant our nation's forests. For every ten new 'likes' to their Facebook page, they will plant one new tree www.Facebook.com/Hefty.BasicsTableware

  1. Seriously so cool! We actually just started about two weeks ago to use paper plates instead of regular plates as the dishes were overwhelming me. Now I only have to do dishes once a day instead of two or three times.

I would buy these in a heartbeat as I prefer to buy paper plates that will biodegrade.
